What we say:

We're of two minds about the FootJoy Shield Tip 1857 golf shoe. Part of the luxury, handcrafted 1857 series, this golf shoe is the quintessential classic, luxury golf shoe. Because each shoe is handcrafted, they are quite customizable, with 7 different widths available. Combine this with Calfskin leather, and you have pretty darn cool shoe. However, the 1857 Shield Tip is exponentially expensive. When you dissect the shoe, it doesn't offer anything special in terms of performance. In fact, it is just average. What we're getting at is that the 1857 Shield Tip was created for a specific demographic, namely those who join the most exclusive golf clubs and travel to them in private jets or first class. This golf shoe is as luxury as luxury gets, and looks second to none in terms of classic golf shoe style.
