Nike once again comes up with fashion gold in the Air Max 97 G. The key word here is "fashion", because underneath the fashion, it doesn't offer the golf-specific performance we were hoping for. This being said, the Air Max 97 G certainly targets a specific demographic that is looking for retro style and comfort. Aside from fashion, comfort is what stands out the most in this golf shoe that was designed after the infamous Nike Air Max 97 running shoe. It really is one of the most comfortable golf shoes out there, which also means it's perfect for walking the course, particularly on mild to hot days. As we said earlier, we are a bit disappointed with the Air Max 97 G's golf-specific performance. More specifically, support during the swing and grip. The traction system is great for walking, and definitely grips adequately, but it's not quite up there with the best spikeless traction. The Nike Air Max 97 G is perfect for sneaker heads who appreciate innovation, style and comfort.
