What they say:
The adidas ASYM Energy Boost is the pinnacle standard of performance golf shoes. It incorporates all the latest technology Adidas has come up with, and strategically places it throughout the shoe. Along with the cushioned Boost foam technology (more responsive than traditional EVA foam, with a more trampoline effect), the ASYM models are asymmetrical. Because each foot performs vastly different roles during the swing, Adidas has come up with a shoe that is specifically designed for each foot’s role. This of course means that each shoe will be slightly different. The soles incorporate the popular Puremotion Gripmore traction, enhancing grip by strategically placing non-replaceable spikes and lugs/nubs.
Technology:
*Boost midsole foam – Boost foam is comprised of thousands of TPU energy capsules fused together that deliver energy return and responsiveness. In a sense, it has a more trampoline effect than traditional EVA midsole foam.
*Puremotion outsole with Gripmore tread – Comprised of numerous lugs/nubs of varying sizes along with non-replaceable spikes. Rubber traction at heel and toe.
*EVA fit sleeve tongue
*External heel counter – Wider heel outsole for increased stability
*Soft microfiber leather upper
*Fitfoam PU sockliner – Increases overall cushion and comfort
*Asymmetrical upper and outsole – Designed specifically for separate roles during swing
*Energy sling – Bit of elastic near forefoot that ensures more snug fit, creating a smoother power transfer.

What we say:
The adidas ASYM Energy Boost really is the pinnacle of technology in golf shoes. Low handicappers may find some of the technology not only unnecessary, but annoying. Mid to high handicappers could possibly benefit quite a bit from the added stability these shoes provide. As we just said, we like the idea of asymmetrical shoes for mid to high handicappers, as it can really guide your feet. The Boost foam technology really is responsive and cushioned. We also like the Puremotion Gripmore outsole/traction and find it equal to, if not greater than many “traditionally” spiked shoes. While some may find this shoe’s technologies overpriced and unnecessary, others will find it extremely helpful and worth the extra cash.
