What we say:

 

The ECCO Base One HM golf shoe is essentially the same as the original Base One. The only differences are the type of coating on the the leather upper, which gives it a slightly different (better) look, as well as some other minor aesthetic changes. Other than that, the performance is the same. It was designed for beginners looking for an entry-level, spiked golf shoe. Nothing really stands out, yet nothing is really lacking, which does indeed make this a good shoe for beginners. Our only complaint is the price, which we think should be a bit lower for a golf shoe of these performance standards. If you're planning on playing a lot and improving rapidly, the Base One HM perhaps isn't the best choice. However, if you're out on the course on occasion, and are satisfied with your novice abilities, this shoe is recommended.
