What we say:
The FootJoy FLEX XP is basically a waterproof version of the originial FootJoy Flex. Save for the added waterproofing, these two shoes share pretty much the same technology. What we love about the FLEX XP is that unlike the Flex, it can be worn year-round. The added waterproofing took just a bit of breathability away, but made for one of the most breathable, waterproof golf shoes out there. We don't suggest wearing the FLEX XP during a winter round in Scotland, but it is nonetheless great for hot to cool conditions, wet or dry. The Versa-Trax traction system is geared more towards comfort and versatility, which means it's great for walking but leaves a bit to be desired in terms of golf-specific grip. Since the focus is on lightweight comfort, the FLEX XP doesn't offer a whole lot of support either. However, if year-round wearability and lightweight, flexible comfort are your thing, you can't go wrong with the FLEX XP.
